Are you currently blogging for a living? Or have you dreamed of enjoying a simpler life through an online career? There are many benefits to being self employed and the freedom that comes with it. We have seen a trend of people looking to transition to a simpler lifestyle and internet based businesses are becoming more and more popular. From selling antiques on eBay, performing SEO/marketing services, creating web design for small companies or running your own blog for advertising revenue... It seems like the options are nearly endless.

Is it really all that nice to have a high paying salary from a 60 hour a week job when most of that money goes to expenses you probably don't even need? Or would it be better to drastically lower your expenses, "work" less, do something you love and still have the same (or more) money at the end of the month for really living life? If you run the numbers for your particular situation, you may discover that downsizing your expenses AND moving from a high tax state to a NO income tax state (like TN) will greatly increase the money you'd have on hand to enjoy life. Many of our customers have shed sky high property taxes, high HOA fees, gas expenses from commuting every day, and "underwater" houses on 1/10th acre lots 5 feet from neighbors in order to simplify their lives and unchain themselves from the never-ending rat-race life has seemingly become.

If you'd like to free yourself, setting up an online business may be a good thing to explore. Often, you can set it up and give it a shot while you're still working your current job. This method would allow you to see what kind of income you can generate doing something you'd love. After getting up and running, if you can get the online business to cover your expenses (and hopefully a nice little profit) why not run it from your homestead in the country and enjoy views like this as you sip your morning coffee:

Tennessee Mountain View

Until fairly recently, one of the drawbacks to moving to a rural area has been slow or non-existent internet access. Now it's becoming easier and easier to stay connected in remote areas. Services like Hughes Net allow for satellite internet access just about anywhere. Cell phone companies are also increasing their internet capabilities. You can simply "tether" your cell phone to your home computer or laptop and get internet just about anywhere you have service (we've seen the best coverage from Verizon for remote areas). If you are able to get 4G coverage, then you can even have speeds faster than most current DSL services! With cell phone coverage expanding at a steady clip I can only imagine that their data coverage will just get better and better.

Now that it's becoming easier and easier to run your own business from just about anywhere, it may be worth dusting off your old dreams of being your own boss and giving it another look.

Always remember the old saying: Do what you love and the money will follow... :-)

If this sounds like it may be for you, give us a call and we can help you find a nice spot to start your new life!
